Description

JL Performance Horses, located at 2536 Wingdale Mountain Rd in Poughquag, NY, offers a comprehensive equestrian experience where kids can learn everything from grooming and tacking to actual riding on beautiful wooded property perfect for trail rides. The facility provides various programs including private lessons, summer camps, birthday parties, and pony rides for toddlers, with instruction covering both Western and English riding styles. Most reviewers highlight the welcoming atmosphere and how quickly children develop skills and confidence, though some mention concerns about program consistency, pricing transparency for special events, and cleanliness of certain areas. The hands-on approach means kids don't just ride—they learn complete horse care, safety protocols, and responsibility while building community connections. Parents frequently note how their children become completely horse-obsessed after attending, constantly asking to return for more sessions.
